I'm a new follower to your blog - which I am finding funny, inspirational, close to home and close to my dream scenario for my girlfriend and I. I found your blog about 5 days ago and have read the whole thing now.
We have been trying to conceive for just a few months using what we call the DIY method. My Angel Head equivalent has procured the use of her darling brothers sperm for us (well just for me to be perfectly clear!). So we have brought him over from the Caribbean for a 5month 'working holiday' hehe to assist us in our endeavours.
We were extremely lucky that on our first attempt of DIY, with just two insems in one day (as he had to stop donating as he needed to go to the fertility clinic for testing), and only 3 days after he'd got off a round the world flight to New Zealand...it worked! So I was blissfully pregnant. I have been wanting a baby since I was about 3years old and am now 34!
Sadly this state of bliss only lasted for 3mths and then, devastatingly, I miscarried. We've been trying and trying since then as he's off home in one week, and we can't afford to bring him back for a long while probably. Plus the fertility clinic option of IUI didn't work out as his swimmers are used to Caribbean warm, so they refuse to defrost once frozen, funny that! So we could only do IVF with ICSI and we definitely don't have $18k spare for that!
So fingers crossed that our Xmas - New Year period of DIYing has been successful. Grow pepi grow!
But you know, actually what I came on here to say was - "oh lawdy your Lola is gorgeous!" my GF says she is an old soul eh? Those eyes!
Nga mihi nui ki a tau hou - greetings for the new year!
So many gorgeous photos. I love those little Reindeer slippers. Stopping by for wordless wednesday. Great to have found your blog.
ReplyDeleteFirst Christmas is always lovely isn't it?
